I’ve tried suntanning with baby oil 30 min a day everyday! it’s very hard for me to sunburn, but also hard to tan.my body seems to tan easily.please no tips or comments about tanning beds and safety.just tips on SUNtanning.

Tips on suntanning?

The UVA rays that penetrate through the epidermis will cause aging in the future (meaning leathery skin, deep wrinkles adn age spots) and if you are that concerned with the way you look i suggest that you don’t tan.

The UVB rays will cause burning which increases your risk for skin cancer in the future. do you really want that?

Try using a gradual tanner like Jergens Or Dove which spreads evenly and leaves you looking like you have a real tan and glowing.

Also apply a BROADSPECTRUM UVA AND UVB proof sunblock. Apply 30 mins before going out into the sun and at least every 2 hours.

If you are concerned about losing vitamin D’s then apply your sunblock 30 mins before going out and walk at the park or somewhere for 20 mins that will give you enough vitamin D’s.

Now please protect your skin from the damages of the sun.

Take care! :D

  1. If you are using a topical acne medication that strips off the top layers of skin, the layers that hold pigment, it’s probably close to impossible to tan your face.

  2. It may be due to how often you wash your face, especially if you exfoliate. Not that your body is dirty at all, but you probably spend a lot more effort washing your face, just like most people do. And, assuming you’re a guy, shaving is the ultimate exfoliator.

You might try some of the new moisturizers for the face that build up a gradual (but fake) tan and don’t clog pores.

  3. My face is the same way. It won’t tan. My legs tan very weird too. My thighs will tan down to my knees. Nowhere else, exept my feet. I use to tan very easily and dont burn easily. Usually if I do get burnt, it turns into a tan when it heels. That didn’t happen to me last summer. My skin was different colors, both white and tan. It looked horrible and it sucked. Tanning beds would help, but that doesn’t sound like something you want to do. Okay, so, it might be how much you wash your face. The more you suntan, the darker you will be, but if you wash your face, your skin will start to lighten, because you scrub it a lot. I’m not saying you shouldn’t wash your face forever. Try not washing your face for awhile and go suntanning and let the tan set on your face for a few days, then wash away. I know, washing your face might be gross, but it probably the only possible way to get a tan. = ]?

  5. Hey I have the same problem after several tan sessions my body looks great but my face is still pale. Its very obvious when I look in the mirror and hold my hand up to my face. Funny thing is that I used to tan fine all over and this problem surfaced recently after i stopped tanning for a while and started again. Anyways one thing I did was try proactive which contains benzoil peroxide. Afetr doing some research i discovered BP is a bleaching agent strong enough to bleach your jeans. I spoke to company and they assured me that even though it does bleach clothes it has no effect on the face, I remain skeptical. Good news is that I might have another awnser to your problem. It turns out tanning bulbs need to be changed regularly, they lose their ability to produce UV rays and when their spent even though they continue to light up they fail to make UV rays. Turns out tanning salons often replace the body bulbs but fail to replace the face bulbs to save money. One suggestion would be to lay feet towards the face bulbs so that your face gets the body bulbs.
