Alright so I’m gonna use a tanning booth soon and I was wondering if theres any safe tips I can use to prevent burns or something? Btw im not too concerned about the cancer risk, its mainly just media buzz. If you want to argue that check out this link – http://hunter-gatherer.com/blog/media-hysteria-tanning-beds-and-melanoma…buuut anyways safety tips, got any?

I work in a beauty salon and there is health issues associated with tanning beds however there is never an issue with burning unless you have grade 1 skin tone such as ginger, red head with really pale skin. You can use tanning creams within a tanning bed that enhance your tan and create more moisture to the skin so you dont have to use the tanning beds as much and it doesnt dehydrate your skin, its called a tanning lotion or tanning enhancer and ranges from £1-£15 quality differs by price. Another suggestion if you are concerned about use of tanning beds is to use fake bake spray its amazing, no streaks and that is true and no bad knees, elbows or patchs it all looks very natural. Just spray it on and rub it in all over your body and thn wash it off your hands. it costs around £20-£26 and can be brought mostly anywhere in a shopping centre. Hope this has helped you :)

  1. Having it on a lower setting and being in there for longer is safer than a higher setting and less time, so stick with low and long :)

  2. I suggest not going so frequently. Definetely load up on the sun screen. If cancer is so big and all, I suggest getting a spray tan and/or using bronzer or instant glow lotion. You can get that at any tanning salon or drug store (CVS, etc.)

  3. There is no safe way. Just dont use it too frequently.

I would suggest spray tans, just a better alternative :p

  4. Trust me it’s not worth tanning. you can get skin cancer. i suggest u use like a fake tan. forgot the name of it. but my mom got some and it works pretty well. i think sally’s beauty Supply has some. but trust me tanning beds and laying in the sun, all tht does is fry ur skin. and it peels off in 2 days.

    Have a nice day.

  5. If you insist upon using a sunbed, I suggest you tan slowly, do not use any tan accelerators and do not abuse the tanning beds. If possible, get a spray tan instead-very safe.
