Like the Sperti Brand shown here? I want to use it occasionally to give my face a little color & to help clear up a mild case of dermatitis I get sometimes around my nose & eyebrows.

OMG! DO NOT USE THIS!!! Me, my sister and a couple of friends used a sun lamp one year to give us some color for Easter. Did we ever have color! We all had to go to the Dr. and had 3rd degree burns on our faces! My eyes were almost swollen shut! It was horrible!

Go to a tanning salon. Most of them have a "facial" lamp. It doesn’t cost as much as the beds. You can buy visits and not have to use them except when you want.
If you decide to go ahead and purchase this home tanning lamp, remember….a little goes a long, long, LONG way! Don’t look for immediate results. Give it atleast a day.

Good Luck! :)

How often is TOO often in tanning beds?

I know tanning beds are no good for you. But how often is TOO often? I’m not going away for spring break, but i want to go back to school with a tan. Is everyday so bad for you? And what are the consequences of going 2 times in 1 day, just once.

You really shouldn’t go more than twice a week. You need to let your tan "develop". You cannot go more than once a day at any salon. I wouldn’t try to go to 2 different salons the same day.

I’ve tried suntanning with baby oil 30 min a day everyday! it’s very hard for me to sunburn, but also hard to tan.my body seems to tan easily.please no tips or comments about tanning beds and safety.just tips on SUNtanning.

Tips on suntanning?

The UVA rays that penetrate through the epidermis will cause aging in the future (meaning leathery skin, deep wrinkles adn age spots) and if you are that concerned with the way you look i suggest that you don’t tan.

The UVB rays will cause burning which increases your risk for skin cancer in the future. do you really want that?

Try using a gradual tanner like Jergens Or Dove which spreads evenly and leaves you looking like you have a real tan and glowing.

Also apply a BROADSPECTRUM UVA AND UVB proof sunblock. Apply 30 mins before going out into the sun and at least every 2 hours.

If you are concerned about losing vitamin D’s then apply your sunblock 30 mins before going out and walk at the park or somewhere for 20 mins that will give you enough vitamin D’s.

Now please protect your skin from the damages of the sun.

Take care! :D

How do indoor tanning lotions work?

I know there’s a first lotion and then a second lotion. I know that you swap them out every other time you tan, but how exactly do they work? I mean what does the 1st lotion do as opposed to the 2nd lotion? Thanks!

I dont exactly know what you mean about 2 lotions. Are you referrring to a specific brand of indoor lotion? If so please list the brand
I know some Brands i think Caltan(dont quote me for it) has a 3 step lotion system. But you have to buy them seperatly its not a kit.

If youre just talking about why people use more than one indoor lotion then… Some people use 1 tingle and one regular bottle. Tingle lotions can dry out your skin alot so its not good to use them all the time. People also just get bored of the same lotions all the time. Some people claim they build up a resistance to certain lotions. Im not sure how true this is. I know people who have 4 or 5 bottles of tanning bed lotion.

Are tanning beds good for Seasonal Affective Disorder?
Please help I have been searching for hours and can’t seem to get a straight answer if it has been proven whether tanning beds are good / can help with Seasonal Affective Disorder. I keep reading that people have heard that it is good for that but can anyone tell me if it has been proven? Thank you so much! Very nice of you to take time to help.

No, because they are not good for your skin. There are lamps (not sure where to purchase them) that do help with SAD. They light up gradualy like a sunrise when you turn them on.
Please speak with your Dr. about this, and also you might want to check home depot, places like that.
However, being a medical condition, I would recommend you start with your Dr. first.
Take care..

where can i find a sunless tanning salon in kuwait?

i want information on any sunless tanning salon in kuwait to get a fake bake spray tan, since the heat seems to be scorching my skin!

Interesting question considering the women of Kuwait would rather buy skin lightening creams rather than self-tanners. There, the paleness rather than the tan-ness of your skin is more important to them.
So….good luck finding a tanning salon of any kind there. I would suggest that you maybe try some of the nicer hotels, like the Hilton or the Palms to see if they offer this service.

You could also shop places like Carrefour, Sultan Center or the hundreds of neighborhood pharmacies for a can of tan.

I decided to give indoor tanning a try, about 2 weeks ago. Since then I have been using lotion my boyfriends mom lent me, but now I need to buy my own.

Hmm I’m not sure. Never personally tried any before. Although I’ve heard the Olay Touch of Sun works well :)
