i tanned today for the first time and i was confused by all the different types of lotions? which ones will give the darkest tan in the shortest amount of time.
and are you supposed to shower right after you tan? or does keeping the lotion on overnight help you develope more of a tan?
Tinglers in my opinion produce a deeper tan in the long run. They are only for advanced tanners though, as they may really irratate the skin. There are many different levels, T2, T12, T30, T45 etc. The higher the number, the more it will "tingle" when you tan.
Bronzers don’t tingle. They also create deep tans but make you, well, bronze right away. Sometimes with a lot of small sparkles. Some bronzers have body blush and some contain hemp. This product contains a dye and will wash off, but your tan, of course, would still remain, just a tad lighter.
Swedish Beauty is a great line of tanning products I use.
I toss things up and use tinglers and bronzers.
You don’t have to shower right away, but sometimes you can really smell like burnt skin. Keeping the tanning lotion on overnight seems as though it would continue to moisturize your skin, but Im not sure about developing the tan more.
You can take a shower 2 hours after you tan. Some tanning lotions have bronzer in them and that gives you the appearance of being darker than you really are. Different people tan differently. I have to go a month before I can start seeing color (and I really shouldn’t tan but I’m getting married this summer and I don’t want to be the same color as my dress. I am also going to Cancun for my honeymoon and do not want to burn on the beach). My friend can tan 3 times and be really dark. I’m envious haha. Good luck tanning!

you should never have to be confused..the people working at the salon should know..and recommend a lotion based on your skin type, how well you tan naturally, and based on how quickly you want or need to get a base tan.
If you are fair to light skinned..ask for a bronzer–that will give you instant results b/c part of it is a dye that will wash off (some of it)..to keep as much as possible..don’t shower for at least 2 hours (or workout b/c the sweat will do the same thing)..
Go back and ask for advice..if the people can’t recommend something in confidence..tan somewhere else–knowledge is everything!
Good luck!
