Why do people say Tanning beds give you a quicker tan then in sun?

im not familiar at all with tanning beds but im curious, i have always got nice deep tans from the sun if i stay out there for only an hour or 2.

The UV rays emitted by a tanning bed are around 20 times as intense as the UV rays emitted by the sun. Because the rays are more concentrated and stronger, you can get the same tan from tanning in a bed for 15 minutes as you would get from laying under the sun for an hour.
