Are high pressure tanning beds less harmful than low pressure ones?

high pressure is stronger than low pressure. Low pressure are the "normal " tanning lights…about 95%uva, 5% uvb while the high pressure are uva lights with most of the uvb blocked by the glass. In low pressure you may have to go a couple of times a week…with high pressure…2-3 times a months.

The tanner i go to has level one to level three and an ultra bronze level..they told me that the higher beds have less burning rays. i think the higher beds are high pressure so hopefully that helps you. you could always go to a tanner and ask them they should know too.

No, they are actually worse. There are 2 types of rays, one burns and the other ages and damages the skin. The high pressure beds contain more of the aging and damaging rays (although both UVB and UVA cause damage, the one is worse).
